New Behind-the-Scenes Images from Hypothermia Bring the Chill
With all the blizzards happening throughout the country, this is surely both the best and the worst time to be filming a movie called Hypothermia. Some images from the set just surfaced, and damnit, they make us wanna put the heat on!
A large portion of the production took place on the middle of a frozen lake – Great Sacandaga Lake in Mayfield, NY. The production team spent weeks filming on the ice, having to take snowmobiles and four-wheelers out to the actual set – making it a challenge to even grab a cup of coffee or use the restroom. Michael Rooker and the rest of the cast were real troopers!
Producers on the film include Dark Sky Film’s Derek Curl, Jacob Jaffke, and Glass Eye Pix producers Peter Phok and Larry Fessenden.
Hypothermia takes place in Maine in the dead of winter. Ray Pelletier and his wife, Helen, have been ice fishing the frozen expanse of Lake Noyade for over two decades, but this year something is different: no fish bite. Is it their new neighbors on the ice — Stevie, Jr. and his overbearing Dad — with their high-tech gear and over-sized rig that are driving the fish away? Or is it something else? The answer comes in an onslaught of ferocious attacks that unite the two families against a mysterious creature from under the ice.
