In the first-person, all Go-Pro shot film, Hardcore Henry, a man wakes up in a Moscow laboratory to learn that he’s been brought back from the dead as a half-human, half-robotic hybrid. With no memory of his former life, a woman who claims to be his wife tells him that his name is Henry.

Before she can activate his voice, armed thugs storm in and kidnap her. As Henry starts to understand his new abilities, he embarks on a bloody rampage through the city to in pursuit of a psychopath who plans to destroy the world. Along the way, he meets a mysterious mercenary named Jimmy, played by Sharlto Copley.

We had a chance to catch up with Sharlto Copley and Hardcore Henry’s director Ilya Naishuller (who also plays a role in the movie) to ask them about what it was like to shoot an entire movie on the Go-Pro – and, fittingly, our interview is also shot on the tiny camera – as well as the dangers of working on huge stunts in a foreign country, and how they dealt with all that blood.

Check it out below.

Five minutes later, your wife has been kidnapped and you should probably go get her back. Who’s got her? His name’s Akan (Danila Kozlovsky); he’s just a psychotic megalomaniac with telekinetic powers and a never-ending army of mercenaries. You’re also in the unfamiliar city of Moscow, and everyone wants you dead. Everyone except for a mysterious British fellow called Jimmy (Sharlto Copley). He might be on your side. Good luck, Henry. You’re very much likely to need it…
