Another bit of casting news for the television take on “The Exorcist” has arrived.  Deadline reports that Beasts of No Nation‘s Kurt Egyiawan has signed on to play a series regular as Father Bennett, a liaison for the Vatican.

“The Exorcist,” penned by feature writer Jeremy Slater (Fantastic Four), is described as a modern reinvention of the book, previously adapted into William Friedkin’s classic horror movie. It is a propulsive, serialized psychological thriller following two very different men — Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) and Father Marcus Lang (Ben Daniels) — tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession and confronting the face of true evil.

He joins the previously announced Hannah Kasulka and Brianne Howey. Kasulka will play Casey Rance, the wallflower of the family. Casey is worried about her sister, Charlotte (Howey), who has been holed up in her room ever since her serious accident.

Rupert Wyatt is set to direct. More as it comes.
