Ashlynn YennieDirector C.M. Downs dropped us a line with an update on Fetch, the new feature he’s working on for DrippingDead Films. Casting is now complete for the film, which was written by Trent Haaga and is gearing up to commence principal photography on January 9th in Easton, Kansas.

Downs describes Fetch as “a terrifying story of six cross-country campaigning cheerleaders who have been abducted in rural Alabama.” It stars Christina DeRosa as Starlene Arbuckle, Shawn G. Smith as Punch, and Ashlynn Yennie (pictured) as Christina Jenkins. Smith previously appeared in the “30 Days of Night: Blood Trails” TV series while Yennie will be familiar to those who have seen The Human Centipede (First Sequence).

Haaga is probably best known as the writer of Deadgirl but also has several acting gigs under his belt including The Devil’s Muse; Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill!; and Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula. Downs says of Haaga’s Fetch screenplay: “One of the things that really attracted me to the script was [its] ‘Blood Simple’ angle meets the story arch of ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’. It’s very unique and told at a multi-plot level. A very compelling triangle leading into destructive terror.” The director was also extremely excited to relay that Fetch is DrippingDead’s first SAG project.

To stay up-to-date on Fetch‘s progress over the coming months, follow the film from the director’s perspective on Twitter via @CM_Downs and on the official DrippingDead Films website.
