2009 is starting to wind down so of course that means it’s time for all the various awards shows to begin rearing their heads. First up — The People’s Choice Awards, which (even discounting the predictable numerous mentions of Twilight) have a pretty healthy array of genre nominees.
Along with the Best Sci Fi/Fantasy Show nominees you’ll see in the graphic below (that is one hard category to pick a winner from), we have:
The Twilight Saga‘s Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the Best Actor/Actress categories as well as both of them plus Taylor Lautner for Favorite On-Screen Team (Twilight also shows up as a Favorite Movie choice)
District 9 and Paranormal Activity for Favorite Independent Movie
“Lost” for Favorite TV Drama and Matthew Fox for Favorite TV Drama Actor
Anna Paquin and Jennifer Love Hewitt for Favorite TV Drama Actress
“Dexter” and “True Blood” vying for Favorite TV Obsession (another tough call)
“The Vampire Diaries”, “FlashForward”, and “V” for Favorite New TV Drama (Sure, “FF” and “V” aren’t straight horror, but they both have definite genre elements. You want some “real” horror? Check out the music categories!)
With a new producer, never-before-seen categories, a redesigned trophy, and an A-list lineup, People’s Choice Awards 2010 (click here to vote) is taking the excitement to a whole new level. Tune in January 6th, 9PM EST, on CBS for the star-studded surprises of the People’s Choice Awards.
