Being American? Being Human Redux Coming to Syfy
For those of you out there who missed the first season of UK mini-series “Being Human” on BBC America, make it your business to watch it on demand if you can. The show was a powerhouse of good old fashioned horror that played like a completely supernatural version of “Three’s Company” but with tons more bite. Like all good things from overseas … an American version is now on the way.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Syfy has handed out a 13-episode order for a U.S. version of the BBC show from RDF Media USA.
“Being Human” revolves around three twentysomething roommates — who happen to be a ghost, a vampire, and a werewolf — as they help one another navigate the complexities of living double lives.
The original series, produced by RDF subsidiary Touchpaper TV and executive produced by Rob Pursey, had an initial six-episode run on digital channel BBC Three. The original version of the show is now slated to return early next year for an eight-episode second season.
How will this turn out? Well, we’ll always have the original, won’t we? Dig on the trailer for that below, and check out our San Diego Comic-Con roundtable interview with Toby Whithouse, Russell Tovey, Lenora Crichlow, and Aidan Turner, the creator and stars of “Being Human”, here.
