Netflix has truly changed the movie-watching game in a big way, and in addition to putting fan favorite classics and overlooked indies up for instant streaming, the company has also begun to acquire its very own original films. Up next, a home invasion thriller soon lands on the platform.

Per THR, Netflix just nabbed previously unannounced film Mercy, which Chris Sparling (Buried) wrote and directed. Filming recently wrapped on the thriller, and the cast includes James Wolk (“Mad Men”), Caitlin FitzGerald (“Master of Sex”), Tom Lipinski, Michael Godere, and Dan Ziskie.

The story centers on four estranged brothers who return to their childhood home to be with their dying mother and find their bond tested after old family secrets begin to surface.

XYZ Films’ Kyle Franke and Nick Spicer produced with Uncorked Productions’ Andrew D. Corkin and Robyn Bennett.

Mercy will be released in select theaters and then hit Netflix shortly thereafter.
