The Walking Dead Finds its Negan in Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is no stranger to horror fans. From guest starring in “Supernatural” as Sam and Dean’s father to appearing in such films as The Possession and Dead & Breakfast, he’s dipped his toes into our genre on numerous occasions. He also showed up in “Extant,” Watchmen, “Grey’s Anatomy,” and will be seen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Up next, he has some pretty big shoes to fill as he’s just landed the role of “The Walking Dead’s” big bad Negan!
Per The Wrap, Morgan will appear in the final episode of the current sixth season, returning as a series regular in Season 7. As readers of the comics know, Negan is the leader of The Saviors, who extort food and supplies from other survivors of the zombie apocalypse through violence and intimidation in return for protection from other groups like The Wolves. He also wields a rather vicious weapon, a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire that he calls “Lucille.” Lucille and Glenn had a rather monumental encounter in the comics, a fact this is keeping viewers’ hopes up that Glenn might still be alive.
