DVD and Blu-ray Releases: October 13, 2015

default-featured-image

First off, how about this week’s season premiere of “The Walking Dead?” I thought it was pretty good. SPOILER: Carter sucked. That whiney turd would have just aggravated me for the rest of the season anyway. Okay, on to this week’s list…

The Edgar Allan Poe’s Black Cats limited edition set has been pushed back two weeks so check back for more details on that on October 27th. The packaging for that release actually looks pretty cool.

Speaking of Edgar Allan Poe, all three seasons of “The Following” drop this week in a box set. Also in our TV section is Season 3 of “Bates Motel.”

Our classics reach back 90 years to Lon Chaney’s portrayal of The Phantom of the Opera. This will be out on both DVD and Blu-ray this week. We’ve also got 1966’s Manos: The Hands of Fate seeing both formats getting released this week as well. Additionally, in no specific order, our classic releases this week contain: Nightmare, The Brood, Shakma, Neon Maniacs, The Return of Count Yorga and 1975’s Mary, Mary, Bloody Mary.

Troma fans can pick up a Blu-ray of Class of Nuke ‘Em High III: The Good, The Bad, and The Subhumanoid. I do believe this completes the Blu-ray releases for the Nuke ‘Em High series.

On a final note, as a wrestling fan myself, I will most likely pick up a copy of Pro-Wrestlers vs. Zombies. If anything, it will be nice to see one last glimpse of Roddy Piper acting ridiculous as only he could.

As usual, pleasant viewing, everyone, and stay safe while decorating your houses for Halloween. Always have a spotter.
