El Rey Network Kicks Off Stephen King Saturdays in September with The Stand
We’ve been talking about a new version of Stephen King’s The Stand for some time now, but that’s not what this story is about… instead we’re pleased to announce that El Rey Network is honoring King with special Saturday screenings of three of his classics, starting with The Stand on September 12th, followed by The Tommyknockers on the 19th and The Langoliers on the 26th.

This September, ride with the king of horror when El Rey Network presents three classic Stephen King mini-series airing over three consecutive weekends. “The Stand” (1994) airs on Saturday, September 12th, at noon and 8:00 pm ET; continuing with “The Tommyknockers” (1993) on Saturday, September 19th, at noon, 4:00 pm, 8:00 pm and midnight ET; and concluding with “The Langoliers” (1995) on Saturday, September 26th, at noon, 4:00 pm, 8:00 pm and midnight ET.
Created in the early-to-mid ’90s, when long-form event television was king of the airwaves, these three spine-tingling mini-series feature the perfect mix of real-world and supernatural horror King fans love, plus an exciting roster of film and television stars, including Gary Sinise (TV’s “C.S.I.: NY,” Forrest Gump), Molly Ringwald (Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles), and Rob Lowe (“Parks and Recreation,” “The West Wing”) in “The Stand”; Marg Helgenberger (“C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation”) and Jimmy Smits (“NYPD Blue,” “L.A. Law”) in “The Tommyknockers”; and Patricia Wettig (“Brothers & Sisters,” “Thirtysomething”), Dean Stockwell (“Quantum Leap,” Blue Velvet), and Bronson Pinchot (“Perfect Strangers”) in “The Langoliers.”
