Toho’s New Godzilla – First Images and Videos from the Set

Shooting on Toho’s first Godzilla movie in 12 years, Shin Gojira, which roughly translates to New Godzilla or True Godzilla, is happening NOW; and the first images and videos from the set have emerged online! Check ’em out!
There’s no sign of Big G yet, but there are throngs of people running for their lives, and that’s ALWAYS a good sign! The film is being co-directed by Hideaki Anno (Neon Genesis Evangelion), who also penned the screenplay, and Shinji Higuchi (Attack on Titan).

According to August Ragone, inside sources are saying that this iteration of the world-famous king of the monsters threatens to be “frightening,” harkening back to the original 1954 film, while co-director Higuchi promises, “I’ll give you the greatest worst nightmare!”
Look for the film to attack Japanese theaters next summer. Hopefully a Stateside release will follow shortly thereafter.
