Fan Recreates Horror Posters With Retro Action Figures

Horror fans are some of the most creative people on the planet, so dedicated to their love for the genre that they’re constantly churning out their own little tributes to their favorite movies. And this latest one is pretty damn fun, as it mashes together horror posters and iconic 80s toys.

Dan Polydoris, who calls himself the Chicago Toy Collector, is the man behind this project, and for it he’s put some of his beloved toys to work. The toys, including a Princess Leia action figure, were cleverly photographed in front of horror posters, literally bringing them into the movies.

These were all done in a pretty DIY fashion,” Polydoris notes. “No figures were Photoshopped onto these images, and everything was shot by setting figures up in front of backdrops – although some elements (titles, text, etc…) were added to some of the pics after.”

When my wife asks me what I’m working on, and it’s a project like this, I tend to just say ‘Oh, nothing.’ It’s better than saying, ‘I’m setting toys up in front of backdrops so I can recreate horror movie posters with action figures. You know, like a 34 year old man is supposed to do.'”

Never too old to have a little fun, as they say. Enjoy the fruits of Dan’s labor below!
