Spooky Pinball and Rob Zombie Team Up for New Pinball Machine
Man, I love me some pinball. Ever since I was six or seven years old, standing on a little stepstool to reach the controls, I’ve loved pinball. It’s no surprise, then, that I wound up at the Texas Pinball Festival back in April. A massive convention room full of pinball of every era, all set to free play. Incredible.
One of my favorite things about the fest was the presence of new, independent pinball creators like Charlie Emery and his company, Spooky Pinball.
They’d brought their first machine, America’s Most Haunted, which is a kitschy fun look at paranormal investigations featuring the absolute latest in pinball tech. This ain’t just flippers and silver balls, folks. Tons of moving parts, hundreds of lines of custom dialogue, lights that can change almost anything, even the color of the cabinet itself… this thing is just incredible.
Charlie and Co. have now sold out of that table and are working on their next project. It’s a doozy: Horror legend Rob Zombie has signed on to co-design a table based on his entire universe.
Featuring everything from House of 1000 Corpses to Living Dead Girl, the table will pull from all aspects of Rob’s career. Brand new speech is being recorded with Rob, Sheri Moon, and Sid Haig as Captain Spaulding. Alex Horley, who is Rob’s CD artist and has also worked on Magic: The Gathering and World Of Warcraft, will be doing the artwork for the table.
The plan is for 300 units to ship out in January 2016.
Check out the announcement video below, and be ready to play some kick-ass Rob Zombie Pinball early next year!
