Easter Eggs Inside the Insidious Films Will Keep You Awake at Night

An “easter egg” is a hidden or undocumented surprise inside a film, game, or computer program. In this case, the easter eggs inside the Insidious films are downright frightening.
The third movie of the Insidious franchise, Insidious Chapter 3 (review), was released today in theaters worldwide. The Insidious franchise is known for its jump scares, paired with high-pitched, off-tone musical cues. The viewer can usually predict when a scare is about to occur. However, director James Wan has inserted a few subtle scary moments inside the first two Insidious movies.
In the first Insidious Renai Lambert spots a little ghost boy running through her house and proceeds to chase him. The combination of jump scares and musical accompaniment keeps the viewer on edge. What you might not have noticed is that the audience got a sneak peek of the boy before Renai did. Pay close attention the video below about 32 seconds in.
In Insidious 2, the second film of the franchise, viewers are given another scene where Renai is walking throughout the house, this time while speaking to a detective over the phone.
Look for another easter egg in the video below. Pay attention to the right side of the screen, 35 seconds in.
