There’s nothing like seeing two menacing monsters go face-to-face with each other, mano e mano. We’ll get to see that first-hand when Frankenstein vs. The Mummy is released on VOD and DVD on February 10. Until then here are our Top 9 Heavyweight Horror Match-Ups to keep you busy.

The irresistible force versus the immovable object. Something’s gotta give, and this list is all about those cinematic battles where you just don’t know who is going to come out on top. We’ve got a couple of honorable mentions to kick it off. First is the animated intergalactic battle Monsters vs. Aliens. It’s anybody’s guess who would win that one. The next is one of the most anticipated films in a long, long time. We won’t see it until 2016, but Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice should be one for the ages. And as far as horrific match-ups go, they don’t always have to happen on the big screen. The 1998 Hell in a Cell match between The Undertaker and Mick Foley (as Mankind) has to go down as one of the most shocking match-ups ever!

And now, on to the…

Top 9 Heavyweight Horror Match-Ups

Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys (2004)
A made-for-Syfy project that combined the characters of David Schmoeller’s Puppet Master and David S. Goyer’s Demonic Toys, this film is a fantastic showdown between some of Full Moon Entertainment’s most memorable characters. Unfortunately it’s not recognized as part of the Puppet Master canon because it wasn’t produced by Charles Band or his Full Moon Features production company. But what we do have is a full serving of Puppet Master characters like Blade, Pinhead, Jester and Six-Shooter as well as the classic Demonic Toys characters Jack Attack and Grizzly Teddy with a fantastic appearance by Baby Oopsy Daisy. A hilariously fabulous showdown between some of our favorite twisted toys.

Alien vs. Predator (2004)
Okay, so Alien vs. Predator and its sequel, Alien vs. Predator: Requiem, have both been critically panned. The films certainly have their faults… a lot, lot, lot of faults. But when it comes to matching up two horror heavyweights against each other, you may not be able to find a better battle than Alien vs. Predator. They are two legendary horror/sci-fi creatures who have transcended their films. The alien race and the predators are both so damn intriguing to audiences that, even though the Vs. films were both pretty much disasters, we as viewers will always be intrigued when these two big boys are pitted against each other. Maybe there’s another installment of a higher quality to come down the road one day, but for now we’ve got two Alien vs. Predator movies, and our imaginations to fill in the gaps.

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (2010)
Perhaps there is no greater foe to battle than evil itself, and in Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, two well-meaning hillbilly rednecks find themselves face-to-face with all kinds of trouble. Dealing the viewer a massive role reversal, Tucker and Dale vs. Evil is dark comedy at its best. We don’t necessarily see Tucker and Dale actually gearing up and fighting a malevolent force, but the boys certainly do find themselves in one hairy situation after another. From an unfortunately placed bees’ nest to an oh-so-handy wood chipper, Tucker and Dale vs. Evil is filled with all kinds of obstacles for our heroes, and they manage to stumble on every one of them.
