‘Push’ Directors David Charbonier and Justin Douglas Powell On Their Pulse-Pounding Home Invasion Thriller

Push

Filmmakers David Charbonier and Justin Douglas Powell are known for their harrowing approaches to single-location horror films. Their first two films, The Boy Behind The Door and The Djinn, feature stellar performances from a young cast and build tension like no other. That trend continues in their latest film, Push, though this time their lead is a pregnant realtor fighting for survival.

In the film:

Haunted by the memory of her late fiancé, Natalie Flores finds herself 8 months pregnant and in desperate need of a new start. Determined to regain her sense of self, she moves to America and uses her real estate license to take on a challenging listing. However, she soon discovers her new beginning may be a deadly end when she catches the eye of a sadistic killer at her open house. After becoming stranded at the property, Natalie falls into premature labor, starting a physiological ticking clock as she must find a way to escape before she gives birth.

We spoke with Charbonier and Powell about channeling Hitchcock in their new home invasion thriller, as well as getting to work with adults and finding that perfect location.
