‘Please Don’t Feed the Children’ Director Destry Allyn Spielberg On Venturing Into The World of Horror
For her first feature, director Destry Allyn Spielberg wanted to make an impression, but wasn’t sure horror was the right choice for her. There are a lot of preconceived notions about the genre, after all. But then she read Paul Bertino’s script for Please Don’t Feed the Children and everything changed. Now, Spielberg’s first feature film is streaming on Tubi and is ready to shock viewers with a dystopian tale about a group of kids and the strange woman they have the misfortune of stumbling upon.

Please Don’t Feed The Children takes place in a not-so-distant future where society contends with a pervasive virus that afflicts the entire adult population. After the deadly viral outbreak, a group of orphans flees in search of a new life, only to be taken hostage by a woman hiding a sinister secret.
Spielberg sat down with Dread Central to talk about her first feature, approaching the world of horror, and casting her villain.
