Adam Wingard’s ‘Onslaught’ Posters Unleash a Deadly Weapon; Trailer Tomorrow!

A deadly weapon will soon be unleashed by Adam Wingard (You’re Next) in Onslaught from A24.
In the images, we get a frankly unnerving as hell look at one of the film’s super soldiers, glowing eyes staring at us through a white sheet a la Michael Myers. The other features star Adria Arjona (Blink Twice) ready to take on the, well, onslaught.
Written by Wingard and frequent collaborator Simon Barrett, the film follows a mother living in a trailer park who tries to protect her loved ones from a threat that has escaped from a secret military base, while mercenaries try to contain it.
The cast is stacked with familiar genre faces. Joining Arjona are joined Dan Stevens (The Guest, Cuckoo, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire), Michael Biehn (Aliens, The Terminator), Rebecca Hall (The Night House, Godzilla vs. Kong), Drew Starkey (Queer), Eric Wareheim (Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!), Reginald VelJohnson (Die Hard), and UFC champion Alex Pereira, who reportedly plays a villain known as The Butcher.
While A24 has remained quiet about the film’s marketing rollout, everything we’ve heard about Onslaught suggests that Wingard and Barrett are returning to the kind of lean, aggressive genre filmmaking that made You’re Next and The Guest such fan favorites in the first place. The trailer certainly felt that way.
I saw it in theaters this past weekend, and it looks like a thrilling return to the lean, mean, visceral thrill rides that Wingard and Barrett made a name on like You’re Next and The Guest. Actually, Onslaught looks very much in the same universe as The Guest, pulling from a whole lot of the intensity that made that film work. Audiences appear poised to receive one hell of a treat because I’m telling you, the trailer is a banger. Look for it tomorrow.
Experience the Onslaught when the film blasts into theaters on September 4, 2026.
