CONTEST CLOSED! Absence, Screamfest and DreadCentral Host #6SecondHorror Vine Competition
UPDATED: This post has been updated with the Winners of the Contest and Runners Up.
The creative team behind Absence, Cinedigm’s upcoming release, along with ScreamFest L.A. and DreadCentral, have picked the winner of the #6SecondHorror Film Vine Contest. Was it YOU?
We’re excited to announce the winning selection is The Strange Case by Vine user Christopher Noir. Big props to this film since it won Christopher a free pass to ScreamFest Los Angeles in October.
Christopher Noir’s The Strange Case
Really, the decision came down to his spectacular homage to the old Universal horror frame-by-frame transformations. Genius stuff, Christopher! Congratulations!
Here are some of our other favorites that came within a HAIR of winning!
Edward Nieh’s Sleep Tight
Caitie Delaney’s Where’d She Go?
Nick Randall’s Run (Offline RIP Vine)
We Know Horror’s Late Night Visit (Offline RIP Vine)
Absence will hit theaters on July 5th – at the Quad Cinema in NY, and the Gateway Film Center in Columbus, OH. Make sure to check the official Absence website and follow Absence on Twitter for more fun updates!
Huge thanks to Cinedigm and ScreamFest Los Angeles for letting us take part in the fun!
Okay horror fans, listen up. Think you know scary? You have six seconds to prove it. The creative team behind Absence, Cinedigm’s upcoming release, has teamed up with ScreamFest L.A. and DreadCentral to host a Vine contest.
We’re trying to find the best six-second horror film out there. It’s easy: just Tweet your Vine video to @AbsenceFilm with the hashtags #6SecondHorror and #AbsenceIsComing. And it doesn’t have to be straight horror. Submissions can be sci-fi, thriller, slasher, whatever – as long as it raises some neck hairs.
Please keep in mind this promotion is meant to be in good fun so there are some rules you’ll have to abide by because we don’t want anyone getting into any trouble and assume no responsibility for those that do:
- Contestants should not enter stores, disrupting business or destroying property, unless it is cleared beforehand by the store owner.
- Contestants are not to directly approach anyone, much less chase them. If a person shies away, move along.
- Contestants should not block traffic or disrupt their surroundings. A location should be exactly the way it was when you arrived after you leave it.
- Contestants should absolutely NOT break any laws or endanger any animals or people.
Winners will receive:
- A FREE pass to ScreamFest Los Angeles in October (the largest film festival dedicated exclusively to horror)
- Your short film recognized and featured on ScreamFestLA.com and DreadCentral.com
All submissions will be curated and hosted on #6SecondHorror.com. I’ll be judging these things myself. After you submit, be sure to follow @AbsenceFilm on Twitter to see who wins! If your film is selected, you may be notified via direct message on Twitter, so following them is pretty important. The deadline (see what we did there?) to submit is June 24th, and the winners will be announced on June 27th! Get your cameras (and heads) rolling!
