‘Backrooms’ Is Returning to Theaters This Week With 15 Minutes of New Footage

A24’s surprise horror phenomenon Backrooms is headed back to theaters this week with an expanded theatrical edition.
According to a new listing from AMC Theatres, the film will return on July 3 as Backrooms: Everything Must Go Edition w/ Bonus Footage, featuring 15 minutes of new, theatrically exclusive post-credit footage from writer and director Kane Parsons.
The new version carries a runtime of 2 hours and 6 minutes, up from the original theatrical cut’s 1 hour and 45 minutes. AMC’s synopsis remains unchanged:
“A strange doorway appears in the basement of a furniture showroom.”
The listing adds that the screening “includes 15 minutes of new, theatrically exclusive post-credit bonus footage from Kane Parsons.”
At the time of writing, no additional details have been revealed about the bonus material, and AMC’s listing does not indicate whether the footage consists of deleted scenes, an extended ending, or a tease for what’s next.
Tickets for Backrooms: Everything Must Go Edition are now available ahead of its July 3 theatrical rollout.
