DVD Releases: Oct. 13, 2009: The Stepfather Has an Oral Fixation to Drag Me to Hell

Another great selection of DVDs hits store shelves this week (it's obviously October!) including one of the year's most fun films, Sam Raimi's Drag Me to Hell; the long-awaited Richard Stanley classic Hardware; Blu-rays of The Craft, Killer Movie, and Midnight Movie; and for the Robert Pattinson completists there's The Haunted Airman, a BBC television movie that was filmed five years ago and aired in the UK in 2006.

Reach Your Objective on IFC

One of the more interesting films to cross my path thus far this year is Daniel Myrick's The Objective, which pits a group of Special Ops soldiers led by a CIA operative against a sort of "Bermuda Triangle of ancient evil" in the Afghan desert.

    Trailer, Poster & Stills for The Objective

    IFC Films has released the final poster and trailer for The Objective (review), the new film from Blair Witch co-director Daniel Myrick. IFC will have the film in theaters starting February 4, 2009, with expansion planned starting in March. Check out the poster, trailer, and a batch of stills below!

    Fantasia 2008: The First Week

    As I mentioned in my opening soiree blog for this year’s Fantasia Festival, it’s been a tough one without my compadre Evil Andy. Fantasia is not a situation where one can be semi-committal – any given time of day where other obligations tie you down can lead to a cinematic masterpiece (or disasterpiece) slipping through your fingers.
