DVD Releases: Dec. 8, 2009: Run Bitch Run from The Lights of the InAlienable Cyclops

It looks like Anchor Bay is wishing everyone a "Blu" Christmas as it releases a wide variety of films ranging from The Alphabet Killer to Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon to Walled In to Cyclops to Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer onto Blu-ray for the first time. Now that's a lot of cerulean!

Anchor Bay Announces Alphabet Killer DVD Specs

Anchor Bay has announced the details of its upcoming DVD release of The Alphabet Killer, which is slated to hit shelves January 6th of 2009. This marks a mere one month wait after the film’s limited theatrical release, which is scheduled to begin in early December.

The Alphabet Killer Finds Limited Theatrical Release

Anchor Bay announced today that their new psychological thriller The Alphabet Killer will be shown in a limited run starting Friday, December 12th. Additional screenings of the film are also planned in Rochester, Buffalo, Los Angeles, and New York. An exclusive and invitation only premiere will also take place at the NYC Cinema Village on Thursday, December 11th.

Movie posters have become a lost art form. Remember back in the Eighties when even the smallest productions like Mortuary or The Boogens had great poster art?     Plot Synopsis:

    Rochester, NY, Megan Paige (Dushku) is a driven police investigator whose commitment to the job borders on obsession. Her fiance, Kenneth Shine (Elwes), is also a lieutenant with the Rochester PD. They're currently working on one of their worst cases yet, the murder and rape of a 10-year-old girl named Carla Castillo. When Megan puts it together that she was murdered in Churchville, she is convinced they are dealing with a serial killer. She becomes so caught up she begins to have hallucinations... and a bloody Carla begins to haunt her regularly.

    Anchor Bay Catches The Alphabet Killer

    Rob Schmidt’s The Alphabet Killer has been sitting in limbo for so long, I had almost forgotten about it. Lucky for us Anchor Bay never did, though, as Fangoria learned today that the label has named Schmidt’s Wrong Turn follow-up for distribution.

    The Alphabet Killer's Big Trailer

    Eliza Dushku and Cary Elwes have returned to the horror genre in a rather interesting true crime story, The Alphabet Killer (previous news here). The film is based on the murder/rape of three young girls Rochester, NJ during the 1970s.

    Dushku After a Killer

    Rob Schmidt knows a good thing when it’s staring him in the face. He got to spend some time in the woods with Eliza Dushku a few years back making Wrong Turn, and now that he’s on to his next feature, he’s making sure he keeps her around. Smart guy.
