A couple of weeks ago we brought you the unseen I Am Legend creatures that literally made us cringe at the thought of what they had been replaced with. Now something else I Am Legend related is ready to not be seen ... its proposed prequel.

Yep, prepare to be annoyed. Before we get to that, though, you may be wondering why we're covering the Will Smith flick I Am Legend years after its release. Believe me we're just as shocked. Still, something really cool has surfaced online that should not be ignored.

Lawrence Talks Legend Prequel

I Am Legend is probably one of the biggest continuing disappointments in Hollywood history; not a single adaptation has come close to capturing the feeling of the Richard Matheson novel it was based on. Now Hollywood’s taking it one step further and prequelizing it, just to make sure moviegoers are never able to take this post-apocalyptic world too seriously.

    Plot Synopsis:

    Robert Neville is a scientist who was unable to stop the spread of the terrible virus that was incurable and man-made. Immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and perhaps the world. For three years, Neville has faithfully sent out daily radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. But he is not alone.     SDCC 08: Suspiria Remake, Legend Prequel

    As Comic Con rolls on, the boys over at STYD got their ears tuned to two somewhat sad and disturbing bits of info; the remake of Suspiria is still moving forward, and a prequel to I Am Legend is in the works.

    Legend Opens Big ... Really Big

    Once again the old adage “If you cast Will Smith, they will come” has been proven this weekend; Francis Lawrence’s I Am Legend (review) has pulled in an estimated $76.5 million for its opening weekend, more than pretty much any projections had estimated.
