Bousman Talks Saw IV

Though I’m sure cries of “sell out!” echoed across the Internet as soon as it was announced that Darren Bousman would return to the Saw franchise despite numerous insistences that he was all done with it, fear not. The man has his reasons.

Numero uno among them is that the script (allegedly the one penned by Feast screenwriters Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan) fucking rocks. Or so Bousman has said in a new blog that just showed up over on his MySpace page.

“This script was good… no… not good… GREAT… I was totally prepared for this script to JUMP THE SHARK – – I mean – we are on our THIRD sequel – where in fucks sake do you go from here? In the case of this script… UP! I met with writers to give them my two cents… The next thing I knew I was all giddy like a school girl about where the film and the franchise was headed…”

So that sure is a good sign as is the fact that his horror rock opera, Repo! The Genetic Opera, is still moving forward. Big gaps in scheduling are what prompted Bousman to reconsider doing Saw IV, and apparently it all worked out very well. Check out the blog right here to get the whole story!
