The official Platinum Dunes website got an update today with the very first picture from the set of Friday the 13th. Before getting too excited, only producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form appear in the pic. There's no Jason for you ... yet.
For those who want to know more about what we can expect as far as Voorhees goes, Brad Fuller had this to say, "In this movie you will see a feral, brutal Jason who is hell-bent on killing in astonishing ways. And tonight our director, Marcus Nispel, constructed a shot of Jason as he is about to strike that is when I got scared. The shot is iconic in its construction. It's our Batman or Spiderman shot and when you see the movie you will know exactly what I am talking about. It is the single shot that tells you everything you need to know about Jason."
Marcus Nispel is set to direct this new entry to the series with a script written by Freddy vs. Jason scribes Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. Expect to see Jason chopping up the kids next year!

There's no doubt in my mind that this film will end with the "last girl" cliche ad she'll probably be on a small boat as a rip-off err... I mean homage to the original. More than likely in the last second of the film Jason will spring out of nowhere and the screen cuts to black as she screams.
What could make that even better? If Voorhees leaps out from under a very small tarp that's in the same boat as our "knew she was gonna make it" heroine. He manages to do this without rocking the boat or drawing the attention of his prey.
Jason then our beautiful lead through the back with an electric drill that he somehow manages to power via a giant extension cord!
