We've all been there, man. Driving alone down the highway with billboards and bad radio being your only company. Then you see it ... its warm inviting glow beckoning you to make a pit-stop -- the late night convenience store!
As if compelled by some unseen force, you head in, parched and in need of a quick fix of sugary sweet goodness. Ah, the cherry Slurpee. It could very well be one of our lifetime's greatest creations.
Yet, even the simplest of tasks can lead us on dark roads to madness.
Such is the general idea behind the short film adaptation of famous horror author Joe Knetter's Thirsty!
Principal photography commenced on the film this past weekend finding Dread Central's own Andrew Kasch at the directorial helm working from a script written by David Rosiak and starring Joe (Wrong Turn 2) Lynch, Michael (The Hills Have Eyes) Bailey Smith, and Tiffany (Abominable) Shepis.
"Adapting a Joe Knetter story is like snorting Pop Rocks and chasing them down with a whiskey sour", says Kasch. "You have to be bat-shit nuts to wanna try it, but wow does it sound like a good time. Luckily, I found some folks crazy enough to give it a spin, and the end result will hopefully be as bizarre as Knetter himself."
When reached for comment, Knetter had this to say:
"Awww yeah, mama!"
