*UPDATED!* The Bay Becomes Starz

**UPDATE! — We just got word from one of our Anchor Bay contacts that, when it comes to kickass horror, the Anchor Bay name will still be in place. So the Anchor Bay Collection is still good to go, and both Hatchet and Behind the Mask will feature both logos. Nice!**
Though it’s not horror news per se, Anchor Bay Entertainment has still been one of the biggest contributors to our genre since the invention of DVD, so this is a bit weird.
A press release sent out today announced that Anchor Bay Entertainment will now officially be known as Starz Home Entertainment, adopting the name of the company who purchased AB’s parent company IDT back in 2006. IDT was then renamed Starz Media, so I guess this name switch will help stockholders be less confused?
Hey, as long as the output remains the same, I’m fine with it, but you have to admit it’s going to take some adjusting to remember that Starz Home Entertainment used to be Anchor Bay. If you head on over to Anchor Bay Entertainment.com, you can see the name change already in place. Damn, I miss that old name already…
