Norwegian Sequel Thale 2 Officially in Development

A couple years back, Norwegian filmmaker Aleksander Nordaas made a film called Thale (review), which explored mythological concepts and folklore. Though a sequel was reportedly in the works back in 2013, we hadn’t heard a peep about it in the last two years. Today, the silence has been broken.
The Norwegian Film Institute reports that the Nordic Genre Boost initiative has selected seven projects that will each receive a development grant as well as access to two intensive residential workshops, and Nordaas’ sequel is one of those approved films.
Described as a fantasy movie, Thale 2 will be the director’s third feature film. Like the first movie, the plot will deal with spellbinders and lurking creatures from Norwegian folklore. Nordaas will continue his collaboration with Bendik Heggen Strønstrand of Yesbox Productions with Thale 2.
