Blumhouse Gets Family Friendly

Don’t worry too much… the production company that has brought us just about everything the last couple of years is only expanding its horizons a bit. THR is reporting that The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones director Harald Zwart has signed on to direct Blumhouse Productions’ latest microbudgeted horror film, which is so far untitled. Robert Ben Garant (Jessabelle) wrote the script.
Blumhouse has an excellent track record when it comes to making highly profitable microbudgeted horror features (including Paranormal Activity, The Purge, and Insidious), but the interesting part of this new feature is that it’s geared toward families. The logline is being kept under wraps for now.
Blumhouse’s Jason Blum is producing with Garant, while Jeanette Brill and Couper Samuelson will executive produce.
