Rest in Peace: Billie Whitelaw

Some sad news to report has come our way as Billie Whitelaw, who will always be remembered by horror fans as Damien’s guardian and nanny, the nefarious Mrs. Baylock from the original The Omen, has passed on in her London home at age 82.
Her son is the one who confirmed the news. Whitelaw also starred as Hetty Porter in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1972 thriller Frenzy and 1968’s TV film “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” She was last seen on screen as Joyce Cooper in 2007’s Hot Fuzz.
We here at Dread Central would like to take this time to express our deepest of condolences to Billie’s friends, family, and constituents. Godspeed, and thank you for all the wondrously dark memories. Rest easy.
