Cemetery Dance Announces October Dreams II: A Celebration of HalloweenIf you’re a rabid fan of literary horror, this announcement from Cemetery Dance should make your week! October Dreams II: A Celebration of Halloween, the long-awaited follow-up to one of the most acclaimed Halloween anthologies ever, is on its way.

The sequel features works by Ray Bradbury, Dean Koontz, Robert McCammon, John Skipp, Robert Bloch, Stewart O’Nan, Glen Hirshberg, Joe R. Lansdale, Al Sarrantonio, Whitley Strieber, Lisa Morton, Matthew Costello, Elizabeth Massie, and dozens of others.

It’s once again edited by Richard Chizmar and Robert Morrish, the masterminds behind 2002’s October Dreams. Chizmar is the founder and publisher/editor of Cemetery Dance magazine and the Cemetery Dance Publications book imprint. Morrish is the former editor of Cemetery Dance magazine and co-editor of The Scream Factory magazine.

This oversized volume will contain spooky Halloween short fiction, dozens of authors and artists recalling their own personal memories of Halloween, and essays detailing the “history” of Halloween. Many of the contributing authors will also autograph the signed editions, which won’t last long considering the popularity of the original October Dreams and the low print runs planned for these special editions.

Published in three states:
• Trade Hardcover Edition ($40)
• Slipcased Limited Edition Hardcover of 450 signed (by dozens of contributors) and numbered copies ($150)
• Deluxe Traycased Lettered Edition of 52 signed (by dozens of contributors) and lettered copies bound in leather with a satin ribbon page marker ($500)

Special Note For Collectors:
For a very limited time only, orders are being accepted for copies of the trade hardcover personally signed by the editors. There is no extra charge for these copies, but this offer will not last long.

As for the release date, here’s the latest update from Cemetery Dance’s website: We’re aiming to get the trade edition out this fall, assuming the proofreading doesn’t hit too many snags this month. The signature sheets are circulating now for the signed editions, but with the added production time for the sheets and for the slipcases/traycases, those editions will be published in 2015.
