Today is a VERY good day! The CW has given early pickups to the network’s top-rated show, "The Vampire Diaries", as well as fan (and Dread Central) favorite "Supernatural" with both series set to return for the 2012-2013 season.

I wish they would just let Supernatural go instead of insisting on bringing it back again and again, despite obvious diminishing returns.

I kind of felt that way when they didn't let it end after Season 5 like Kripke wanted, but I have to say I've really enjoyed these past two seasons and think there's enough gas in the tank for at least one more.
