Sid Haig Enters Delamorte's Dungeon of Deadly Delights
Hey there, Fiends! Oh man! Tons to mention this time around! First of all, I just returned from the killer Motor City Nightmares convention, and what can I say? It was not only a kick-ass time, but it also made some nightmares come true.
First of all, I met one of my absolute favorite people in cinema, P.J. Soles, and I was a little taken aback by her presence, to be quite honest. It was truly surreal. While there I also set up show dates with class acts such as Bill Moseley, Ken Foree, Tony Todd, and Matt Farnsworth and Diane Foster - the creators of the brutal indie masterpiece called The Orphan Killer! Having finally watched the film all the way through, all I can say is holy shit! If you have NOT seen the Orphan Killer, please do yourselves a huge favor - seek it out!
Now, on to the show!
We begin with some sad news ... that ends up having a very happy ending. My friend and producer, Todd Sheets, has just had a bypass after a heart attack. Everyone at the station was knocked down to its foundations. However, he is doing very well and is healing quicker than most people doctors have witnessed in I.C.U.! You go, Wolverine!
What this means for you DC listeners is that show's archive which you listen to here will return once Todd is back in full form. We apologize for the inconvenience at The Dungeon, but fear not - If you love the show, you can hear it "live" every Saturday at 11PM EST / 8PM PST on Jackalope 105!
This week we had an honorary interview for Todd with the legendary Sid Haig! Sid was an absolutely incredible guest! We spoke about his entire fifty-year career in an hour! It was intense and one hell of an interview!
In other news, we have a great new sponsor ... F/X Master Bob Kurtzman! Yes, that Bob Kurtzman! The Dungeon is now being sponsored by his amazing Ohio based company, Creature Corps, as well as his upcoming art school which opens in October! I am a friend and huge fan of Bob's work, so this is most definitely a great honor.
Next week also happens to be the show's one-year anniversary on national radio! That's right, one year ago today my team and I brought our fans the best horror has to offer! We began last year with Laid To Rest's Nick Principe, and have spoken to a new talent every single week since. So, who is our guest of honor? Let me catch my breath before I mention this ... she is one of my absolute favorite people in cinema, she's in my favorite horror movie of all time, Halloween, she is one of my favorite characters in my favorite "musical", Rock N Roll High School, she's in one of my favorite King adaptations, Carrie, and she was one of my number one crushes.
I am so happy and honored to welcome P.J. Soles into The Dungeon next week! Not only that, our newest co-host joins the team - none other than Mary Agnew, Dinah Cancer of 45 Grave! Can you say punk rock? I knew you could! If you have not heard 45 Grave's new album, "Pick Your Poison", do it! It is awesome! Be sure to tune in for all of the gory good times with "Apocalypse" Amy Lynes, Thomas Surprenant, Mary Agnew, and yours cruelly every weekend. And check out all of our amazing sponsors below! Take it easy, get a lobotomy, and I'll scare ya later!
Delamorte's Dungeon of Deadly Delights is brought to you by Creature Corps and the official Steph Sciullo website, along with Doug Bradley's Spine Chillers and clothing and apparel company Se7en Deadly.
Be sure to listen live every Sinister Saturday at 11:00 pm ET/8:00 pm PT on Jackalope 105.
