The Ring Sneaks Quietly onto Blu-ray

Oh, Paramount! You're such devils! We just never know what we're gonna find in the mail here at the Dread Central offices. Today we got a box. In it we found a Blu-ray covered in blue and black tissue paper. When all was said and done, we were staring at The Ring on Blu-ray.
My first thought: "DC reader Kidd Capone is about to pop a boner and shit his pants." Every time we do a "coming to Blu-ray" story, he comments, "But where's The Ring?"
Here it is. No fanfare. No press notice. It's not listed on the Internet anywhere. On the box there was a sticker... "BEST BUY EXCLUSIVE". Surely the Best Buy website would have it listed, right? Wrong. It's not there. In fact, we couldn't find artwork anywhere so we broke out the scanner so you guys can see we're not crazy! It even has a cool lenticular sleeve, which is why we added three pics! Dig it!
Look for the film in Best Buy stores on March 20th, 2012, for $19.99.

This IS listed on the site and has been for about a month now. Just search for "ring exclusive". The artwork, however, hasn't been posted, and I'm extremely happy that not only does it have a slipcover, it's a lithographic slip! That's fantastic! Definitely getting this on the first day.

Now we're talking !!!!! The Ring AND Raiders of the Lost Ark boxset on Blu-Ray ??? SWEEEEEEEEETT! Now all I need is Re-Animator and Session 9 and I'll stop my bitching (for now)...It just gets so annoying watching great movies miss out when the news is usually Demon Wind or Blood Sucking Freaks gets the Blu Ray treatment release...As if anyone wants those fucking things...
I guess I'll go take care of this boner now...

I'll buy a copy. This is one of those supremely rare instances where the remake is better than the original.
