Alan Ball Leaving True Blood as Head Writer

True BloodWell, here's some news we can't say we weren't expecting given the degenerative state of quality storytelling on HBO's "True Blood". The driving force behind the show is ready to put down his pen.

According to Forbes online, writer Alan Ball is citing the following reasons for his exit...

"Explanations include exhaustion, and maybe that the show seemed like it had tired blood last season. Ball will still be with the show, I’m told, but a new regime will guide the fates of the characters into their new season."

I can think of a few more reasons: too many characters, too many storylines, ridiculous plot twists set up and never followed up on... the list goes on and on.

Hopefully this jarring situation will be exactly what is needed to get the show back on track. At least we hope so. It's a shame to think that with the fifth season just ahead the show's glory days are far behind. Stay tuned.

The fifth season of "True Blood" returns in the summer of 2012. Keep it here for more, and also visit "True Blood" on HBO.com.

Please we all know the real reason he is ready to leave the show is cause he's got a new show coming up which will prolly also be crap, Alan Ball is good sort of with just the first season but then he goes and screws everything up..

Really its not that hard to do a show which is based on a book so there for you don't really have to make up much of it on your own you already have a lose story line to follow sure a few changes here and there should be made but you shouldn't keep doing all these "Creative" things that really just use up to much of the show...

Okay so maybe that isn't a good way to put it more like not using to much of the show, he creats to many story lines and then by mid season most of them are way forgotten like the with Arleen and the evil baby that basically went no where right along with the fairys sure we're promised more of them this season but they already screwed them up, what the hell is all I think when it comes to that...

I'll actually be pretty happy to see some one new take over the reins somewhat Alan Ball just really screwed up the show I think, the only good things he really done was keeping Lala alive and having Tara more in the show more then she was in the books but even that was screwed up, still a good way to go but the execution was done terribly...
