We have to wait until the night after Thanksgiving to be swept off our feet by “The Devil’s Waltz,” but meanwhile here’s a preview of Ep. 1.05 of “Dracula” plus an “Unearthed” look at last night’s Ep. 1.04, “From Darkness to Light.”
“Dracula” stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Dracula/Alexander Grayson/Vlad Tepes, Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Jonathan Harker, Jessica De Gouw as Mina Murray/Ilona, Thomas Kretschmann as Abraham Van Helsing, Katie McGrath as Lucy Westenra, Nonso Anozie as R.M. Renfield, Victoria Smurfit as Lady Jayne Wetherby, Ben Miles as Mr. Browning, and Robert Bathurst as Lord Thomas Davenport.
“Dracula” Episode 1.04 – “From Darkness to Light” (aired 11/15/13)
Grayson ruthlessly sets out to compromise Lady Jayne by winning her heart. Lucy’s enthusiastic plans for Mina and Harker’s engagement party conceal a broken heart.
Grayson’s unexpected reunion with a very old friend proves a growing complication to his and Van Helsing’s mission of vengeance. Van Helsing achieves a breakthrough in his efforts to enable Grayson to conquer sunlight, only to suffer an unanticipated setback.
“Dracula” Episode 1.05 – “The Devil’s Waltz” (airs 11/29/13)
Harker discovers that General Shaw is far from the heroic figure he presents to the public. Van Helsing’s first attempt at infusing a vampiric test-subject with his solar-serum is a disaster.
Lord Davenport’s agents abduct and torture Renfield. Harker and Mina’s engagement party sets a stage for betrayal and contretemps when a single dance between Mina and Grayson unveils their true feelings.
