Monster Brawl DVD-Per-View Officially Slated for March

It seems only appropriate that with next year’s Wrestlemania slated for April Fool’s Day, a motion picture like Monster Brawl, starring several personalities from the world of professional wrestling that is patterned after a wrestling pay-per-view but with monsters stepping into a ring to fight it out, would get released on DVD the same week.

Jesse T. Cook’s comically horrific take on monstermania boasts familiar wrestling personalities like “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart, Kevin Nash, Robert Maillet (aka Kurrgan), and mixed martial arts referee Herb Dean as well as comedian Dave Foley and the unmistakable voice of Lance Henriksen as the show’s narrator.

But mostly it’s about eight very familiar monster archetypes (Cyclops, Mummy, Lady Vampire, Zombie Man, Witch Bitch, Swamp Gut, Werewolf, Frankenstein) settling their scores in the squared circle.

Synopsis:
Set in the tradition of a Pay-Per-View main event, comes a grotesque and hilarious fight to the death featuring a cast of eight classic combatants in all. Along with their colorful managers, these Monsters compete in visceral bloody combat in the ring to determine the most powerful monster of all time.

Monster Brawl will rumble its way onto DVD and Blu-ray March 27th courtesy of Image Entertainment. Tech specs and disc extras have yet to be announced.

Personally, I would much rather watch a mummy wrestle a werewolf than The Rock vs. John Cena.

I think 'wow' pretty much covers it. Actually, knowing the way my local video stores does things, there's a damn good chance I'll have the opportunity to watch this. Hell, my guy might even have the damn Blu Ray of it.
