Casting News for Scott Walker's The Frozen Ground
Casting news has broken today for The Frozen Ground, the directorial debut of Scott Walker, who also wrote the script, which is based on true events surrounding Alaska’s most notorious serial predator, Robert Hansen. Along with word from THR that genre fave Radha Mitchell will be playing Nicolas Cage's wife in the flick comes confirmation that Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has also signed on for the film.
John Cusack is playing Hansen, regarded in the community as a respected family man. Katherine LaNasa ("Big Love") co-stars as his wife, Fran. In the span of 12 years, Hansen abducted more than 24 women, flew them into the Alaskan wilderness, and hunted and murdered them. Vanessa Hudgens portrays the one teenage victim who escaped. When she returned to tell her story, nobody believed her. Cage plays the Alaskan State Trooper who finds her on the street. Together they work to bring Hansen to justice. IMDB lists 50 Cent's character as Pimp Clate.
Other folks listed on IMDB include Dean Norris ("Breaking Bad") and Richard Schiff, best known for his stint on "The West Wing", among others.
The Emmett/Furla Films thriller began shooting October 17 in Anchorage, Alaska, so look for more soon!
