Zombieland TV Show Trying to Claw its Way from Oblivion

For those of you who don't know or remember, the original concept for the hit flick Zombieland was that of it being a TV show. The powers-that-be decided, however, that a zombie-themed TV series just wouldn't work. Who would watch something like that, right? In any event, the show idea was scrapped for a feature film. Now that the sequel to the feature film is pretty much scrapped, the TV show idea is once again exhibiting signs of life. Amazing how things come full circle, isn't it?

According to Vulture a half-hour TV version of "Zombieland" is in the works with original writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick on board. Specifically, they report that talks are well under way with Fox Broadcasting and Columbia's sister unit, Sony Pictures Television, to put the zom-com into development for the 2012-13 season.

"We always thought [it should be a TV series]," said Reese in an earlier interview. "If you watch the movie with that in mind, you will see some remnants of the television show. We have the 'Zombie Kill of the Week,' which was always intended to happen every week. The movie ends on a cliffhanger; it doesn't have a real resolution."

Producer Gavin Polone says the main leads, obviously, won't be part of the series. Look for more soon!
