World Premiere of Inkubus, Starring Robert Englund, William Forsythe, Headlines Rock and Shock 2011
If Rock and Shock 2011 doesn't get here soon Glenn Ciano is going to burst. Why is that, you ask? Because Glenn makes his feature film directorial debut with Inkubus, and the film will be having its world premiere this Saturday night at Rock and Shock 2011 in Worchester, MA and he can't wait to unleash Inkubus on the unsuspecting world.
Headlining a film schedule that includes Chillerama at 5pm and I Am Nancy (introduced by Nancy herself, Heather Langenkamp) at 7pm Inkubus is slotted at the prime 9pm position and will be introduced by director Glenn Ciano and producer Chad A. Verdi.
"Inkubus is a hardcore old-school horror flick," Ciano said. "We want to get out there and deliver a movie to fans we feel they've been waiting 25 years for." And, following their Fans First philosophy (check out the logo for the concept below), The Lab (as Ciano's team calls themselves) plan to do just that with a Q&A panel hosted by Fangoria immediately following the film with all the cast members, and opportunities throughout the weekend for fans to come by the Inkubus table and check out, hold and take pictures with props used in the actual screening of the film and meet the cast and crew.
Some other highlights from the film schedule for Rock and Shock include Disco Exorcist on Saturday at 3pm and on Sunday the world premiere of metal band I Wrestled A Bear Once's A Beary Scary Movie in 2D at 1:30pm followed by a panel and signing by the band. At 3pm director HG Lewis' The Uh Oh Show will roll. The full schedule is available on the R&S website.
And Rock and Shock 2011 will be featuring no shortage of panel discussions. Some of the highlights are a '70s Splatter Panel (Friday at 7pm) with Camille Keaton, Ian McCulloch and Barbara Magnolfi; a Near Dark Panel (Friday at 9pm) with Lance Henriksen, Jenny Wright and Tim Thomerson; Here And Now Horror Panel (Saturday at 2pm) with Nathan Baesel, Kip Weeks, J. LaRose, Nick Principe and Chris Carnel; The Boondock Saints Panel (Saturday at 3pm) with Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus; The Many Faces of Jason (Saturday at 4pm) with Derek Mears and Kane Hodder; A Nightmare on Elm Street Panel (Saturday at 5pm) with Robert Englund, Heather Langenkamp, Amanda Wyss, Ken Sagoes, Mark Patton and Miko Hughes; The Current State of Horror (Saturday at 7pm) with the staff of Fangoria and "The Walking Dead" Panel (Sunday at 2pm) with Norman Reedus and John Bernthal.
And aside from the panels and films, there will be other special events: A reading and Q&A with author Joe Knetter (Friday at 8pm), publishing workshops and writing studios and a chance to meet some of your other favorite celebrities like Bill Moseley, Roddy Piper and Ace Frehley (there's an unlikely trio, huh? Go easy on 'em, Otis!)
Did you say you wanted musical acts, too? Rock and Shock has them! The action kicks off on Thursday at 6pm at The Palladium with the Motel 6 Rock Yourself to Sleep Tour featuring Alesana. Friday's lineup starts at 5:30pm and the bands featured include Otep, Devin Townsend, Cavalera Conspiracy and Mushroomhead. And Juggalo Nation invades on Saturday! Doors open at 6:30 and the lineup consists of Wolfpac, Blaze, Twizted and the Insane Clown Posse.
But back to Inkubus, director Glenn Ciano promises to deliver not only powerful performances by the cast, but also plenty of the red, red kroovy. "We give it to them," Ciano said. "No one is safe in this movie. We're cutting off heads, ripping out spines, cutting people in half. I'm doing all kinds of crazy nonsense. Make no mistake about it, Inkubus is out to have a party of carnage!"
As for the Q&A session after the screening, fans are encouraged to submit questions online for the cast and crew to answer during the panel. Head over to Glenn Ciano's website click the Tweet button and post your question for the Inkubus gang. Then get over to Rock and Shock and party your ass off!
Event tickets are on sale now. Visit the Rock and Shock website for more info.
