Johnny Depp Goes Diving for The Vault

Yet another property from Image Comics is getting set to enjoy the big screen adaptation treatment, and there is some heavy-hitting Hollywood talent on board to get it done. Read on for details.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, GK Films has picked up film rights to The Vault, an Image comic book written by Sam Sarkar, an executive at Johnny Depp’s Infinitum Nihil production shingle.

Written by Sarkar and drawn by Garrie Gastonny, the underwater sci-fi story centers on a group of divers who uncover a sarcophagus with unusual remains off the coast of Nova Scotia and inadvertently unleash an ancient evil. Sarkar and Gastonny previously created the supernatural Western graphic novel Caliber for Radical Publishing.

The Vault is a three-issue miniseries. The first issue hit stores this week (click here to pre-order a copy from TFAW).
