RKO Investigates The Nye Incidents

It's been over two years since there was anything to report in regard to a live action adaptation of the Devil's Due graphic novel The Nye Incidents. When last we checked in, Dark Castle was in the mix along with director Todd Lincoln. Now a few things have changed.

According to THR The Nye Incidents, a comic co-created by Communion author Whitley Strieber, is finally heading to the big screen.

Director Todd Lincoln, producer Daniel Alter and RKO are teaming up to adapt Nye, a Devil's Due comic written by Strieber and Craig Spector and set in the world of alien abductees. It’s a world well known to Strieber, the author of horror novels The Hunger and The Wolfen, who then wrote about his own experience being abducted by extra-terrestrials in Communion.

Nye centers on a seen-it-all and logical medical examiner whose faith in the rational is shattered when she runs afoul a brutal murder of a supposed alien abductee. The case puts her on the path chasing a serial killer working in the alien abductee community who may or may not be human.

The goal is to make, in a way, an anti-alien invasion movie, something that doesn’t veer into conspiracy/"X-Files" territory yet remains spooky and terrifying.

More as it comes.

Spector is awesome and Strieber is mostly awesome, the exception being when he's writing about his (ahem) abduction experiences.

Still, colour me interested.
