Has World War Z Found Reinforcements?
Some of the recent news around the big screen adaptation of the Max Brooks novel World War Z has been fairly grim ... to say the least. But it seems that last week's news about the project's financial jeopardy might have been a bit too pessimistic.
According to Deadline Hollywood World War Z, Brad Pitt’s movie about a global undead apocalypse, may have found reinforcements to help out Paramount with the hefty $125 million price tag:
"...talks are going on with David Ellison's Skydance and as many as two other financiers to share the load on a movie that is gearing up for production as soon as June. The plan remains for Brad Pitt to star and for Marc Forster to direct the adaptation Max Brooks' novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War."
So it seems like there's finally a little bit of good news to brighten the day for all you zombie fanatics out there.
If you haven't read the book (World War Z review here) yet, do yourself a favor and do so. It's a delightfully brisk read and features one of the best takes on an ailing subgenre you're apt to find anywhere.
