All sorts of distro info has come across the desk of Fangoria editor Tony Timpone today, and it’s all damn fine news.
First up, both Adam Green’s Hatchet (review) and Scott Glosserman’s Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (pictured, review) are in negotiations to be scooped up by those crazy folks from Michigan, Anchor Bay Entertainment. A minor theatrical release is likely for both (though personally I think Behind the Mask could make assloads of money with a wide release) before the inevitable feature-packed DVD’s are unleashed in 2007. Congrats to both directors!
Additionally, Lionsgate has picked up the Irish zomcom Boy Eats Girl (review), and First Look Home Entertainment nabbed Michael Basset’s Wilderness (review) for direct-to-DVD releases.
Expect more details about these release plans in the coming weeks!
