San Diego Comic-Con 2010: Early Concept Art for Godzilla 2012?

One beast who wasn't exactly stomping around the showroom floor at this year's San Diego Comic-Con was Godzilla. With another Americanized remake on the way, we were hoping that there would be something. Well, there was, but ...

T-shirts were handed out at the show with the artwork that you see below, and ever since it has been all over the net. There's just one problem - said artwork, while cool, was confirmed by Bloody Disgusting to NOT be from the film and at this point is not a reflection of how Big G will look in it. The artwork could be from a tie-in like a comic or something but definitely not from the movie itself.

The only thing that we know for sure is that Legendary Pictures has acquired the rights to develop and produce a new Godzilla flick to be co-produced, co-financed, and distributed by Warner Brothers. While there are no other details or talk of any talent that might be involved at this time, the plan is to release the second and hopefully more successful stab at an American Godzilla in 2012.

Look for more concrete news hopefully soon.

I still remember having this argument with a friend during a Godzilla movie marathon. He favored the smaller snout where I championed the longer, more aggressive look.

I'll compromise and be happy we're getting more Godzilla. Also, there's no way it could possibly be as bad as the last American version (I hope).

Note to Hollywood. I watch these flicks to see Godzilla throw down against other bad ass monsters. I do not care what Mathew Broderick is doing in the background.

Snout is too small. Godzilla needs a decent length snout.
