While Season 5 of HBO’s “True Blood” was better than Season 4, it still left a lot to be desired. Could the addition of one of the genre’s most beloved characters bring it back to form? Or will he just be another loose string in a series of plots that go nowhere?

TVLine Reports that Acting vet Rutger Hauer is joining the HBO smash as a series regular. Hauer will play Macklyn, a mysterious and sinister figure with deep ties to Sookie and Jason. Stay tuned for more as it comes, because you know there will be TONS more!
