New Line Execs Lining Up Possible Directors for Final Destination 5
Yes, The Final Destination sent the franchise out on a supremely limp note, but the sucker grossed nearly $200 million. That being said, it is a no-brainer that any flick that makes that kind of bank at the box office is going to get a sequel, and one is coming. Find out who's in the running for the director's seat by reading on.
According to New York Magazine's Vulture New Line and Warner have the following three directors in mind to bring us the fifth installment in the franchise, which is currently going through rewrites from scribe Eric Heisserer.
Steve Quale, a second unit and visual effects director on Avatar. Bradley Parker, a commercial director and second unit/visual effects director on Matt Reeves' (Cloverfield) forthcoming film Let Me In. Charles Gibson, the second unit/visual effects director on the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
Not too shabby choice-wise. Given that this next entry will also be in 3D, it's good to have folks involved who understand visual effects.
An official announcement is expected ASAP.
