Ti West Talks Haunting in Georgia Exit
Last week we reported the unfortunate news that Lionsgate's companion piece to its hit The Haunting in Connecticut, titled The Haunting in Georgia, was going to start filming without the previously attached director Ti West. Now some light has been shed on the young talent's exit from the project.
FEARnet caught up with West, who offered the following explanation:
"So I was on The Haunting in Georgia movie for a while, and we got to the point where we were making different movies, and it was like I don't want to risk us realizing that so late in the game. It's also important for me to write and direct my own movies and edit them so with this MPI-Glass Eye Pix thing, I can do that. The Innkeepers can be my own movie, and [to do that] as long as I can do that is important."
Sounds as if we just avoided a Cabin Fever 2-like debacle. If that is the case, yet another bullet has been thankfully dodged. One thing's for certain -- whatever West is working on next, we will be watching!
