German Killer Bees Attack Spain on American DVD! Get Ready for Killer Swarm!

Move over, Syfy. German television is treading on your nature gone amok territory. Recent years have seen made-for-German-TV movies about killer sharks and birds and tornadoes and other natural disasters. These films have slowly been making their way our way. The latest is Killer Swarm, coming to US DVD in June.

"Deadly black bees threaten to wipe out an entire city. With venom three times as deadly as an Africanized bee, one sting is a guaranteed death sentence. Scientists are working quickly to create an antidote, but time is running out and an attack by a massive swarm of the deadly bees is imminent."

Killer Swarm was made back in 2008, but given its premise, you'd think it could have been produced by the Sci-Fi Channel back in 2004. From my limited experience with these German TV movies released in the US, the dubbing tends to be deplorable in the blandest manner possible and the plots tend to be strictly by-the-numbers. When I found Killer Swarm was a German-made killer bee movie, I was hoping it would be about Nazi bees genetically engineered to only sting Jews and gypsies and their swarm flies in a swastika formation.

But talk about an international production. A German TV movie about killer bees terrorizing Mallorca, Spain getting an American DVD release. Maverick Entertainment has already released a few of these German genre flicks in the US, and on June 1st they'll be adding Deadly Swarm to their zusammentragen.

Maverick has slapped together a trailer for Deadly Swarm that may very well be the single worst trailer ever assembled. Waste a minute watching it below, and remind yourself this trailer isn't some sort of bad joke.
