Lionsgate to Open Up Ghost House's Dibbuk Box
One project that's been toiling around Hollyweird for nearly a decade without getting made is the based-on-a-true-story supernatural spooker Dibbuk Box. Finally, it looks as if this haunting tale is on the verge of being made ... with a schmear of terror even.
According to Deadline NY "Lionsgate has acquired North American rights to Dibbuk Box, a thriller in the vein of The Shining that will be written by Juliet Snowden and Stiles White (Knowing, Poltergeist, The Birds, Boogeyman). Ghost House Pictures partners Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert will produce".
The script centers upon a family who finds themselves in possession of a haunted box and their struggles to get rid of its evil curse. The jumping off point is a true story culled from the Leslie Gornstein-bylined Los Angeles Times article "A Jinx In A Box" (July 2004).

1982's The Last Horror Film stars Joe Spinell and Caroline Munro and was filmed by David Winters on location at the Cannes Film Festival.
